Rebecca Wisocky

Rebecca Wisocky was born on the 12th of November 1971, in the province of York in Pennsylvania. She was inclined to artistic traits from the very beginning, hence attended the Pennsylvania Governor’s School for the Arts. She took the next step towards her interest when, she moved to the New York City and did her graduation from the New York university Experimental Theatre Wing.

Rebecca has been active in the acting industry since the year 1995 and it all started with working with the theatre. Her first theoretical appearance was on Broadway in the play ‘The Play’s the Thing.’ It was a perfect stage beginning and after that Wisocky went on to perform for a number of stage productions. A few prominent plays done by her are ‘Amazons and Their Men’ by the Clubbed Thumb, ‘Antigone’ for Classic Stage Company, ‘A Tale of Two Cities’ for culture Project, ‘The Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant’ for the Henry Miller Theatre. She has often portrayed the female characters with strength, radiance and courage, for instance Medea and Lady Macbeth. Rebecca has done her theatre with dedication and has done justice to every role enacted.

Wisocky also has a notable career with movies and tv shows. She started off in films with the 1996 movie ‘The Fountain of Death’  and did a few blink and miss roles in movies like ‘It had to be You(2000),’ ‘Escape Artists(2005)’,  ‘The Picture of Dorian Gray (2007),’ ‘Henry May Long (2008)’ etc. She has also done two short movies named ‘Flightless Birds (2005),’ and ‘Swallow (2014).’

Wisocky’s television career kicked off in the year 2000 with an episode of the high profile television series ‘Sex and the City.’ Next she appeared on episodes of some television series including, Ugly Betty (2007), Bones (2009), Saving Grace (2009), The Sopranos (2006), Desperate Housewives (2012) etc. She has also been on recurring roles in 90210 and The Mentalist. Wisocky has been a part of some of the crime thriller series, a few names are, Law and order (2003), Third Watch (2004) , Law and Order: Criminal Intent (2002, 2005), Law and Order: Special Victims Unit (2003, 2006), Major Crimes (2013), The X-Files (2016) and Criminal Minds (2012). Rebecca’s most successful stint in the television career has been on the show ‘Devious Maids,’ where she is a regular. Devious Maids started in the year 2013 and she plays the famous character of Evelyn Powell on the comedy series.

Her height is 1.73m and during public appearances she presents herself in a stylish manner. ‘Hello, My Name is Doris (2014)’ is a comedy drama film in which she casted opposite Sally field. The film is directed by Michael Showalter.

Wisocky is married in a recent event on October 10, 2015 in Boston. Her husband Lap Chi Chu works as a lightening designer for the theatre, ‘Pont de la Tournelle’ in Paris.
