Rex Maynard Linn is an American actor who has appeared in films and on television. He is most famous for playing Frank Tripp in the CSI: Miami crime drama television series.

Rex Linn was born in 1956 in the state of Texas and grew up in Spearman. He is the third child but the second son of parents, James Paul Linn and Darlene. In 1969, his family moved to Oklahoma because his father got a new job practising the law. At his new place, he attended Heritage Hall and afterwards Casady School, an independent school affiliated with the Episcopal Church. His first job was a part-time job with Oklahoma City Zoo. In 1975, when he saw Jack Nicholson playing an iconic role in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, he decided to become an actor.

During high school, Rex Linn was in the production for Fiddler on The Roof. Still, he became too wild and was about to demolish the set while dancing, leading the teacher to ask him to leave the drama club and direct the energy to something else; this ended his acting stint in high school.

Career and Net Worth

After he graduated from school, Rex Linn worked as VP of the Energy Lending for Lakeshore Bank. When the bank became insolvent, he convinced a talent agent to give him a chance to represent him in the Oklahoma market. During this time, Linn started to work for an oil company and was in charge of the company's operations in Western Oklahoma. During that time, he also attended the auditioning calls for TV commercials, shows, and movies. After appearing in bad roles, he was allowed to act in minor roles in better projects. His first role was to play a part in Dark before Dawn.

During the 1980s, Rex Linn ripped at his way up the acting industry, handling a role as a serial executioner in the 1989 Roy Scheider spine chiller "Night Game." In 1993, Linn scored his first enormous Hollywood break, playing a United States Treasury operator in the Sylvester Stallone action film "Cliffhanger." He had multiple appearances on TV series like "The Fugitive" and "JAG".

In 2003, Linn scored his most significant role as Detective Frank Tripp on "CSI.: Miami". For a long time, the crime TV series was the highest-rated show in the United States. Getting a spot on the most-watched TV was a lucky break for Linn after his Oklahoma bank was pronounced closed in 1982.

Rex Linn was celebrated at Carpenter's Square Theatre Walk of Fame for Oklahoma City. He is a narrator, and he has narrated three books.
