Richard Karn

Richard Karn Wilson was born on February 17, 1956 in Seattle, Washington. He is a famous American actor, and game show host. His parents were Gene, a Seabee (Naval Construction Battalion of the US Navy) who served during the World War II, and Louise Wilson, a painter who died due to cancer in 1983. Richard also has a sister whose name is Sue. He studied at the “Roosevelt High School” in Seattle, where he discovered to have some inclination towards acting. Richard completed his graduation from the “University of Washington”, where he was closely associated with the fraternity of Beta Theta Pi, and where he earned his degree in drama in 1979. Richard also gained drama experience at the Edinburgh Festival in Scotland.

After finishing his studies, Richard moved to New York, where he was hired to do a commercial right away. When he joined the Screen Actor Guild, a labor union that represented film and television performers, Richard was told that there was already an actor known with his same name, so he dropped his last name. In 1989, following the suggestion of his wife Tudi, he moved to Los Angeles. He worked initially as a manager in an apartment complex, while catering events in a Jewish synagogue. He casted for the television show “Home Improvement”, and after guest starring in the pilot episode, be became a regular cast member when Stephen Tobolowsky had to give up on the role of Ai Borland because he was already busy with another movie.

From 2002 to 2006, Richard hosted the game show “Family Feud”. He’s been the fourth host of the game show, replacing Louie Anderson, and having been replaced by John O’Hurley. On 2008, Richard replaced Patrick Duffy in the role of the host of the Game Show Networs’ “Bingo America”.
