Early Life and Health Challenges

RJ Mitte was born on August 21, 1992, in Lafayette, Louisiana. His birth, an emergency caesarean section, resulted in a brief lack of oxygen, leading to permanent brain damage. As a result, he was diagnosed with mild cerebral palsy. During much of his early childhood, Mitte used walking aids such as crutches to help strengthen his muscles and improve mobility. By his teenage years, he no longer required assistance to walk.
