Rochelle Aytes was born in the Harlem neighborhood of New York City. She attended the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, where she cultivated her passion for acting. Aytes later earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Purchase College, part of the State University of New York system.

Aytes began her career in entertainment as a model, appearing in commercial advertisements for major brands such as Coca-Cola, McDonald’s, and Mercedes-Benz. Her visibility in national campaigns eventually paved the way for her entry into television and film.

Rochelle Aytes gained notable attention for her role as Lisa Breaux in Tyler Perry's 2006 film Madea’s Family Reunion. Her portrayal of a woman trapped in an abusive relationship showcased her emotional range and earned critical praise. Aytes also appeared in other feature films, including the horror anthology Trick 'r Treat and the comedy White Chicks.

Television Career and Notable Roles

Aytes has appeared in various television productions across several networks. In 2006, she portrayed Nicole Jamieson in Tyler Perry’s House of Payne. She also voiced the character Rochelle in the popular video game Left 4 Dead 2.

Her television credits include a role as Leigh Barnthouse in Fox’s 2007 series Drive, and she joined the CBS series NCIS as Tara Kole. In 2010, she appeared in TNT’s crime drama Dark Blue. From 2009 to 2010, Aytes played Detective Grace Russell in ABC's The Forgotten, working alongside Christian Slater in a series focused on solving cold cases.
