Ryan McPartlin was born to Steve and Lois McPartlin and is an American national. He attended the University of Illinois, where he earned a degree in speech communication. During his college years, he played football and was a part of the Big Ten Conference as a student-athlete. After graduation, McPartlin moved to Southern California to pursue his passion for acting and enrolled in acting courses to hone his craft.
McPartlin began his career as a model, notably working for the popular clothing brand Abercrombie & Fitch. His first acting break came in 1999 with a guest appearance on the television series The Nanny. He later took on various acting roles, including a parody of Leonardo DiCaprio's character in a spoof inspired by the film Titanic, marking his early presence in film.
