Sergio Busquets was born in 1988 in Sabadell, Barcelona, in the region of Catalonia, Spain. He began his football journey with the local team CD Badia del Vallès. His early development included stints with CEF Barberà Andalucía, UFB Jàbac Terrassa, and UE Lleida before joining FC Barcelona’s youth academy in 2005.
During his second season with Barcelona’s Juvenil A team, Busquets scored seven goals in 26 matches. His consistent performance earned him a promotion to FC Barcelona B under the supervision of then-manager Pep Guardiola.
