He is married to Barbara Ayers, he met her in Richmond where he was filming Gore Vidal’s Lincoln in 1987 and they have two children together, Katie and Joe who are twins. They are both good parents and Steven is not associated with any extra marital issues and no signs of they getting divorced soon. His sister Kathryn, was murdered on the 1st of January, 2006 in Richmond, Virginia. Stella, Ruby and her husband, Brain were among those who was victims of this grievous murder. According to report, they were slashed, beaten and tied to an electric cord right in their basement. Currently, he live in Los Angeles County, California. Just as everyone has a down time, that is not an exception for him and in such situation he spends time with his family. At other times he goes for hiking, cycling or relax at the beach.
