Taylor Fry was born in 1981 in California. She completed her schooling in Los Angeles, where she was classmates with future actors Rachel Bilson and Rami Malek. After retiring from acting, she attended the University of California. It was during her sophomore year in college that she began playing Ultimate Frisbee. Demonstrating leadership and athletic proficiency, she became the captain of her college team by her senior year.

Fry began her acting career in 1988, debuting as Lucy McClane in the iconic action film Die Hard. She went on to appear in several films and television movies through the late 1980s and 1990s.
