Tobin Heath graduated with a degree in Communications and made her international debut for the U.S. Women’s National Team (USWNT) in January 2008, playing against Finland. At just 19 years old, she was part of the squad that won an Olympic Gold Medal at the 2008 Beijing Games. In 2009, she was named U.S. Soccer’s Young Female Athlete of the Year.
In 2010, Heath was the first overall pick in the Women’s Professional Soccer (WPS) draft and was selected by Atlanta Beat. Unfortunately, she suffered an ankle injury during her third match, requiring surgery and sidelining her for the remainder of the season. In 2011, she was traded to Sky Blue FC, where she made 12 appearances, followed by a short stint with New York Fury in 2012 as she recovered from injury. That same year, she made a strong return, appearing in 26 matches and recording 4 goals and 7 assists. She was instrumental in all six games at the 2012 London Olympics, helping the U.S. secure another Gold Medal.
In 2013, Heath signed a six-month contract with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), scoring 5 goals in 12 matches. Later that year, she returned to the U.S. to join the Portland Thorns FC in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), with whom she still plays. Heath was vital in the Thorns’ success, including scoring a key goal via free kick that contributed to an NWSL Championship win.
Heath added to her list of accolades by winning the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2015, held in Canada, where she was a critical player in the U.S. Women's National Team’s victorious campaign.
Standing at 5’6” (1.68m), Tobin Heath continues to be a prominent figure in American soccer. Though the NWSL's salary structure makes it difficult to determine exact figures, her estimated net worth stands at approximately $650,000. She maintains an active presence on social media and engages with fans via her Twitter handle, @TobinHeath, where she shares updates about matches and soccer-related initiatives.
