Tye Sheridan was born in Elkhart, Texas. His first movie was Tree of Life which also starred Brad Pitt, Jessica Chastain, and Sean Penn. He was chosen from more than 10,000 children who auditioned for the part. The film went on from premiering at the Cannes Film Festival to win a Palme d'Or award and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Picture. He received the Marcello Mastrioanni Award for best upcoming young actror for his role in the movie Joe alongside Nicolas Cage. In 2014 he acted in the Forger alongside John Travolta. He appeared in numerous films in 2015 and early 2016 including The Stanford Prison Experiment, Entertainment, Last Days in the Desert, Dark Places, and Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse.
Tye played the role of Cyclops/Scott Summers in X-Men: Apocalypse in 2016 and will reprise the role for X-Men: Dark Pheonix in 2019. He also was the lead character in Ready Player One which released March 29, 2018. Although best known for his roles in X-Men: Apocalypse and Ready Player One, he also starred in the war film The Yellow Birds alongside Jennifer Aniston and Grass Stains with Kaitlyn Dever in 2017.
