Early Life and Breakthrough

Tye Sheridan was born in Elkhart, Texas. He began his acting career with a breakout role in the 2011 film The Tree of Life, directed by Terrence Malick and starring Brad Pitt, Jessica Chastain, and Sean Penn. Sheridan was selected from over 10,000 children who auditioned for the part. The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, where it won the prestigious Palme d'Or and later received an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture.

Critical Recognition and Early Film Roles

Sheridan gained further acclaim for his performance in the 2013 film Joe, in which he starred opposite Nicolas Cage. His portrayal earned him the Marcello Mastroianni Award for Best Young Actor at the Venice Film Festival. In 2014, he appeared in The Forger alongside John Travolta. Over the next two years, Sheridan continued to build his filmography with roles in multiple independent films, including The Stanford Prison Experiment, Entertainment, Last Days in the Desert, Dark Places, and Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse.
