Vanessa Johansson was born on January 12, 1980, in New York City, New York, United States. She is the daughter of Karsten Johansson, a Danish architect, and Melanie Sloan, an American producer from a Jewish family. Vanessa has four siblings: Scarlett, Hunter, Adrian, and a half-brother named Christian.

She is the eldest sibling in the family and the older sister of Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson. Another actor in the family is Hunter Johansson, Scarlett’s twin brother. This makes a total of three members of the Johansson family who have pursued acting careers. Vanessa is also the aunt of Scarlett’s daughter, Rose Dorothy Dauriac. Film Career

Vanessa Johansson's acting career was relatively brief, spanning from 2007 to 2008. One of her first credited roles was as a voice actress in the animated science fiction film Battle for Terra, directed by Aristomenis Tsirbas. The film featured computer-generated animation and was well-received for its visuals and themes.

In the same period, Vanessa had a minor role in the 2008 remake of the zombie horror film Day of the Dead, directed by Steve Miner. The original version, released in the 1980s, was directed by legendary filmmaker George A. Romero. Contrary to claims, the remake received generally negative reviews and is not regarded as superior to the original by critics or audiences.

Vanessa’s final known acting role was in the film Shark in Venice, a horror thriller directed by Danny Lerner.
