He started his career as a producer and an editor at CNN Sports Illustrated. Later he became a reporter and producer of field for CNN Sports. While working there, he covered The Masters, Final Four of The NCAA and The Super Bowl. He wrote and produced a commentary show on Fox Sports Net which was hosted by Max Kellerman in the year 2004. He became senior producer at MSNBC television in 2005 for the show ‘The Situation with Tucker’. He was there with show from 2005 to 2008. Then he started another show with MSNBC from 2006 which is still going on with the name Zeitgeist host. In 2007, he substituted for morning slot of MSNBC as a co-host. He became the permanent co-host at Morning Joe in the month of September in 2007. The show is still going on. He started his own 30- minute show in 2009 which is aired early morning at 5:30 am. The show ran from 2009 to 2012. He began taking the place of Matt Lauer in 2010 as a newsreader and host of Today Show. He joined the show permanently in 2012 in the month of November. He left the show Way Too Early after joining this show. He covered Winter Olympics games in 2014 in NBC sports and NBC news. He was seen in the television show, The Daily show on 30th June 2011. He is the writer of Freak Show, a bestselling book from The New York Times. He is the co-author of Good Talk, Dad and author of Lose 20 Pounds in 2 weeks or Your Money Back. His show Way Too Early was called as “2010s must-watch cable news show”.

He got married to Christina Sharkey on 24th May 2003. They got married in Puerto Rico. His wife was his high-school love. The couple shares a special bond and is committed to each other.
