Zachary Michael "Zach" Cregger, born on March 1, 1981, in Arlington, Virginia, is an American actor, writer, director, and producer. He is a graduate of the School of Visual Arts in New York City, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a major in film. During his high school years, Cregger was a member of the comedy troupe The Nation of Improv, performing at local malls and school auditoriums. This early exposure to performance art laid the foundation for his future in entertainment.
While attending the School of Visual Arts, Cregger co-founded the American sketch comedy troupe The Whitest Kids U’ Know alongside fellow classmates Trevor Moore and Sam Brown. The group gained popularity for their irreverent and satirical humor, eventually leading to the creation of a television show of the same name. The show, which aired on IFC, successfully ran for five seasons. The name reportedly originated during a freestyle rap session on a New York City subway, when a friend jokingly remarked, "You guys are the whitest kids I know."
Having acted since high school, Cregger gained recognition for his roles in the NBC sitcoms Friends with Benefits (2011) and Guys with Kids (2012–2013). In 2009, he co-directed, co-wrote, and starred in Miss March, a feature film that received largely negative critical reviews but remains a notable point in his career for his multifaceted involvement in its creation.
More recently, Zach Cregger appeared on the TBS comedy series Wrecked, portraying a well-meaning flight attendant whose main reason for taking the job was to travel and avoid settling down. The show, which functions as a parody of survival dramas, gave Cregger an opportunity to further showcase his comedic timing in a stylized ensemble environment.
