Elizabeth Folan Gilpin was born on July 21, 1986 in New York, New York. Betty was born to New York actors Ann McDonough and Jack Gilpin. She holds a four year certification degree from Fordham College. Betty's mother is best known for her role in the 1987 drama satire film Moonstruck while her father featured in generally acclaimed TV series like Law and Order, Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, and Law and Order: Criminal Intent. Other than being an actor, Jack is an appointed cleric of the Episcopal Church and at present serves at St. John's Episcopal Church in New Milford, Connecticut. Preceding his appointment in December 2012, he filled in as a lay minister at Christ Church, Roxbury, Connecticut.
