Betty Gilpin is an acclaimed American actress, widely recognized for her portrayal of Debbie "Liberty Belle" Eagan in the Netflix comedy-drama series GLOW.
Elizabeth Folan Gilpin was born on July 21, 1986, in New York City. She is the daughter of actors Ann McDonough and Jack Gilpin. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Fordham University, where she studied acting and developed her skills for the stage and screen.
Her mother, Ann McDonough, is best known for appearing in the 1987 romantic comedy-drama Moonstruck. Her father, Jack Gilpin, has had a prolific television career with appearances in series such as Law & Order, Law & Order: SVU, and Law & Order: Criminal Intent. In addition to acting, Jack Gilpin is an ordained Episcopal priest and currently serves as the rector at St. John’s Episcopal Church in New Milford, Connecticut. Before his ordination in December 2012, he served as a lay minister at Christ Church in Roxbury, Connecticut.
Gilpin began her on-screen acting career with an appearance in the 2006 television series Law & Order: Criminal Intent. She made her film debut in 2008 with Death in Love.
