Brendan is a very down to earth person who is known for being very approachable to his fans, even when he meets them on the street. He earned most of his devoted fans when he played a cave man that traveled to modern times in the 90s classic, Encino Man.
Divorce Trouble
His first child, Griffin Arthur was born on September 17, 2002 and his second child, named Holden Fletcher was born on August 16, 2004. Fifteen years later, Afton gave birth to their third son, named Leland, on May, 2 2016 in California. A year after his third son was born, he announced that he decided to get a divorce from his wife.
Their divorce settlement was not pretty. Afton asked for 900 thousand dollars per year for alimony and child support payments. He said that he would not be able to pay such an amount because is was too large an amount for every year. He said that he only able to pay 50 thousand dollars per month. Afton accused her ex husband of hiding financial assets.
After being ordered to pay 300 thousand dollars in child support, Brendan wanted to find a way reduce his alimony after suffering a serious injury. He was advised not to perform stunts which decreased the prospects of making more income. He submitted documents to the court and asked to reduce the alimony. The court approved his request and reduced the child support payments by 50 thousand dollars.
In 2013, he again stated that he was having issues paying the child support. His ex wife claimed that he was hiding 9 million dollars from the movie he signed up for when they were about to get divorced. Brendan said that most of his movies are not yet released and he had no other movies lined up which made him broke. Afton was not ready to talk about her personal problems to the public. She just wanted Brendan to pay the amount that she felt she deserved.
Another Woman
Though the separation settlement is very much in the public, Brendan has not wanted to talk about it to the media. They both did not want to comment on the actual reason for the separation too. The reason for the separation is said to be an actress named Maria Bello. Brendan became very close with Maria on the movie sets when they were filming in China. Their flirting affair was well known on the set. Bello is a single mom.
After the separation, Maria and Brendan were never seen together so it is assumed to just be a rumor. Maria did not comment on whether she was the reason for the separation and why they broke up. Brendan also did not comment on the rumors. There are claims that their relationship cannot be denied because whole Mummy crew knew the relationship between him and Maria while shooting in China.
In 2014, there were rumours that Brendan was dating Leslie Mann, his co-star in George of the Jungle but it most likely false since Leslie Mann has been happily married to Judd Apatow, since 1997.
