Cedella Marley was born on August 23, 1967, in Kingston, Jamaican. She is the first child born to Bob and Rita Marley. Cedella has a total of nine brothers and sisters. She grew up in a family of musicians, so she decided to devote her life to music and acting.

Since 1993 Cedella Marley has been married. Her husband is Danny Minto. They have three children together.

Career and Net Worth

The first time Cedella Marley appeared on stage was in a group called The Melody Makers. The group consisted of vocalist Cedella Marley, her brother Ziggy as vocalist and guitarist, her brother Stephen as a vocalist, guitarist, and drummer, and her sister Sharon as a vocalist.

The Melody Makers was very successful and popular in the global pop-reggae genre for two decades. They released more than ten albums and won three Grammy Awards for albums like "Conscious Party", "One Bright Day", and "Fallen Is Babylon". After waves of success, the group officially disbanded in 2002.

As a solo act, Cedella is an accomplished singer. She released a song called "Can You Feel The Love Tonight" in June 2010.

Cedella Marley is an inspiring children's book author. She wrote such books as "56 Thoughts from 56 Hope Road: The Sayings & Psalms of Bob Marley" (2002), "Three Little Birds" (2006), "The Boy from Nine Miles: The Early Life of Bob Marley (Young Spirit Books) " (2008), "One Love" (2011), and "Every Little Thing: Based on the song 'Three Little Birds' by Bob Marley" (2012). The "One Love" book was adapted from one of Bob Marley’s most beloved songs.

Cedella also played some acting parts in movies like The Mighty Quinn (1989) and Joey Breaker (1993).

Cedella Marley created several clothing lines like "Catch a Fire", "High Tide", "Nice Time Deconstructed", and "Nice Time Kids". The collection "Catch a Fire" was named after her father's first album. She designed the uniform for the Jamaican track and field team at the 2012 Olympics.

In February 2014, her musical Bob Marley's Three Little Birds was opened at the New Victory Theater in New York City. Now Cedella lives in Miami and works as the CEO of her father's record label, Tuff Gong International. Tuff Gong is a very big company in Kingston, Jamaica, which provides its services to the island’s top reggae artists and producers, Marley’s sons, and an array of international artists.

Her family has a charitable organization called “1Love” and she helps run it. The “1Love” is very important to the Marley family. Cedella said that her dad's message and vision of “One Love” is as relevant today as it had been 30 years ago. As an active public figure, Cedella Marley had the position of a Global Ambassador to the Reggae Girlz, Jamaica Women’s Football Program. Thanks to her, the team has received funding and product sponsorship enabling their advancement to the CONCACAF World Championship in October 2014.
