His first acting was in the year 1994 where he played in a made for television film called Still Holding On: The Legend of Cadillac Jack.  He had other supporting roles afterwards like in the film that was released in the year 2000 called My Dog Skip, Walker, Where the Heart Is, Miss Congeniality and Texas Ranger. Linley played in an independent film called When Zachary Beaver Came To Town and he appeared in a movie called Cheaper by The Dozen. He played in the live action version in the place of Arnold in the commercial Hey Arnold! The Movie.

There are other roles that he played in films like Hannah Montana, the Haunting Hour: Don’t Think About it, Rebound. The biggest film roles he was in the Hoot where he played with Brie Larson and Logan Lerman. He had also played in the role called That’s So Raven like Daryl. It was in the Episode called Five Finger Discount and he was a friend of Corey Baxter and he tricked him to steal a Monkey Key Chain.  The recent film he played is Hannah Montana where he was Jake Ryan. He co-hosted Disney Channel Games of 2008.

Cody Linley was among the contestants in Dancing With the Stars in its Season 7. He was the contestant who was the youngest during that season.  He was the youngest male who has ever competed in this competition. For some time, he was paired together with Edyta Sliwinska, who was eliminated in first days of the season together with Jeffrey Ross who was her partner. Sliwinska was called back when the partner of Linley got hospitalized. Julianne became again her partner in the week 9 but they were voted out after sometime. He returned to eighth season for Dancing with The Stars. He was participating in a new competition of pro dancers where he was a partner and a student of Afton DelGrosso. He released his first song in 2010 and his first album in the year 2012.

Cody Linley was born to Cathryn Sullivan who was acting coach together with Lee Linley. He is a member of Hollywood Knights Celebrity basketball Team and he did her acting classes together with Logan Henderson, Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato. His brother died in 2011 when he was only 28 years old.   His tribute was done by Adult Swim.
