Between 1997 and 1998, there was a drama on FOX Network titled 413 Hope St., he was the executive producer, and the show has Jesse L. Martin and Richard Roundtree as stars. He also starred in a comedy TV series called Damon in 1998. He acted as a Chicago detective in this series and was aired on Fox Network. He wrote a book, Bootleg, co-authored with David Asbery in 1990. It's a funny compilation of what he has observed about family. From 2005, in the comedy series My Wife and Kids on ABC, he was among the key actor. He was the producer of The Underground series and starred in it in 2006. This series featured his own son, Damon, Jr., in 2006; he was the host of the BET Awards. He then put his writing skill to action on his frictional novel "Red Hats."
