Sports anchor Dana Jacobson was born on September 5, 1971. She spent her early years in Bloomfield Hills, a small city in Michigan, United States. She attended Andover High School before relocating to West Des Moines, Iowa, where she graduated from Valley High School in 1989. Jacobson continued her education at the University of Michigan, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and communications in 1993.
After graduating, Jacobson moved to Traverse City, Michigan, to begin her career in television journalism. She worked at WPBN/WTOM-TV as a news anchor, sports reporter, editor, and producer.
