Emer Kenny is a British actress and screenwriter who was born on October 10, 1989, in Haringey, London, England, United Kingdom. Her full name is Emer Gwynne Morganna Kenny and she is of Welsh and Irish descent. She grew up with three siblings and attended North London Collegiate School in Edgware until graduating in 2008. Kenny made her acting debut in the 2007 BBC television drama "Coming Down the Mountain". In 2009, Kenny made her film debut in Phil Claydon's "Lesbian Vampire Killers".
She went on to play the role of Kate in the BBC production "Freefall" by Dominic Savage. In 2010, Kenny landed a role in the "EastEnders" spin-off "EastEnders: E20" where she played Zsa Zsa Carter. Kenny returned to the show for the second season but this time as a writer. Her character Zsa Zsa Carter was written out of the series so that she could pursue other roles. She also wrote an episode for the show's third season before being selected in 2011 as the youngest writer ever for the BBC Writers Academy where she trained to write for shows including "Casualty", "Holby City", and "Doctors". That same year, Kenny landed the role of Danielle Reeves in the BBC Three drama comedy "Pramface". Her most recent role was in the BBC television series "Father Brown" where she played Bunty Windermere. Kenny married her boyfriend of five years Rick Edwards at Kew Gardens in London on May 28, 2016.
