Kenny made her acting debut in 2007 with the BBC television drama Coming Down the Mountain. In 2009, she appeared in her first film role as a supporting character in Phil Claydon’s comedy horror Lesbian Vampire Killers.
She went on to portray the character Kate in the BBC television film Freefall, directed by Dominic Savage. A pivotal moment in Kenny's career came in 2010, when she joined the cast of the EastEnders spin-off series EastEnders: E20, taking on the role of Zsa Zsa Carter.
