Jeanine Ferris Pirro was born on June 2, 1951. Pirro completed her bachelor's degree at the University of Buffalo. She was awarded a magna cum laude honor. She received her Juris Doctor Law degree at Albany Law School.

Marriage, Husband, and Kids

Jeanine married Albert Pirro, a political lobbyist, in 1975. Together, they have two children. In 2000, her husband was convicted of conspiracy and evasion of federal tax. This put a negative mark on her political and legal career. The whole incident was so damaging for her that she seriously considered resigning from her position as a state D.A. and taking up a more lucrative post in the private sector.

In the middle of her 2006 campaign for State Attorney General, she revealed that she had to go through a legal investigation to clarify whether she had illegally recorded her husband’s discussions to catch him committing adultery. Seven years later, the couple officially announced that they were splitting up and finalized their divorce in 2013. In the end, it was too much for Jeanine to try to protect the criminal activities of her ex-husband.

Aside from her television career, Jeanine was the District Attorney for Westchester for several years and has achieved success in her legal career. In 1975, she became an assistant district attorney in the County of Westchester in New York. She was the go-to attorney that was put on trial murder cases in that region. In 1978, Jeanine started the first unit for domestic violence in a prosecutor’s office. In 1993, Jeanine was elected to become the first female district attorney of Westchester County. She proved so worthy of her duty that she was re-elected in 1997 and 2001.
