Early life

Forsett was born on October 14th 1985 in Lakeland, Florida to Rodney Forsett who is a minister and a coach. Forsett was enrolled at Grace preparatory high school in Arlington. During his high school years, Forsett was the star of the school’s basketball, track and football team. He holds several records to his name. In his last two years at Grace high school, Grace rushed nearly 5,000 yards and had over 60 touchdowns to his name in football. In American football, he also led the high school team to 4A state championship. He also holds marvellous records in track and field.

At the start of his college years, He was rejected by the Notre Dame and Longhorns due to his medium height. He was accepted by the University of California, Berkeley. Forsett was used mainly as a backup for the first three years at Cal. However he was successful in gathering ample amount of playing time. In a victory match against Air Force, Forsett pulled a 34 yard rush and a touchdown. In his sophomore year, Forsett was second in the running back chart of the Cal. He created a record when he was asked to fill in for the injured Lynch. in that match he completed a 235 yard rush which is the fourth highest single rush in school history. During the start of his senior year, Forsett was able to complete 1,546 yards rush and 15 touchdowns. Forsett bid adieu to the college career on a high note. In his last match against the Air Force in 2007, Forsett completed 2 touchdowns and 140 yard rush to seal off a victory for Cal.

NFL career

Forsett was drafted in the 7th round of the 2007 NFL draft by the Seattle Seahawks. Forsett’s first NFL touchdown was against Chicago bears in a preseason match. Just one game to the regular season, Forsett was waived off by the Seahawks in 2008. Indianapolis Cults claimed Forsett on September 8th 2008 and only to be waived off again a month later. Forsett was once again claimed by the Seattle Seahawks on October 9th 2008. He was initially assigned to the practice squad of the Seahawks. He scored his first regular season touchdown against Arizona Cardinals with a 123 yard rush. His stats of the 2010 season were 2 touchdowns and a total of 523 yard rush. His contract with the Seahawks expired in 2011 and he was acquired by the Houston Texans on June 2nd 2012. Forsett scored a 81 yard touchdown to win the game for Texans against Detroit Lions 34-31. Forsett was acquired by the Jacksonville Jaguars for the 2013 season. He could not play in the season due to a foot injury. On April 4th 2014 Forsett signed a one year contract with the Baltimore Ravens. Forsett performed well throughout the season and confirmed his place in the squad of the Ravens. In a play against Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Forsett was impressive with his huge 52 yard run and carried the ball 14 times to provide a comfortable win to the Ravens 48-17. Baltimore Ravens signed an extended deal worth $9 million with Forsett for another 3 years in 2015. Forsett broke his arm at the end of the 2015 season. He is currently placed in injury reserve.

Personal life

Photography and playing video games are Frosett’s hobbies. He was nicknamed “the truth” in his high school years. He cites Reggie White as his biggest inspiration. He is married to Angela Forsett. He has two children with his wife, a son named Zion and a daughter named Judah.
