Soon after, he quit from Saskatoon StarPhoenix and started his TV career. In 1973 he began to work at the breakfast television news show Canada AM, aired on CTV. His duties were not just making reports, he served also as an anchor, newsreader and producer. He did his job very well, and even received his first award for his report from the Yom Kippur War. After that, he was offered to work as a reporter on on CTV National News where he worked to 1976.

In 1982 he received an invitation to join the largest news corporation in Canada - Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC). At first he was just a substitute anchor, but after a short time, he became a Chief Political Correspondent for a popular current affairs newsmagazine The Journal and a co-host of television newsmagazine series Midday.

In 1986 he changed his work again. This time he decided to try himself in USA television and moved to Los Angeles where he joined KNBC-TV and worked there on the position of a news anchor. Later, in 1988 he became a correspondent for the NBC Nightly News and Today Show on NBC News. Perhaps his most vivid report was from Tiananmen Square protests in 1989, when according to official sources died about 200 – 300 people, but unofficial sources say the number of victims is up to 1000.

After his exciting experience in USA he came back to his homeland. He applied for his previous job on CTV and continued his career as a co-anchor of Canada AM. He also returned to CTV National News as a substitute anchor. He also hosted such TV shows like The Editors and Down the Road Again.

In 1995 Keith Morrison moved to USA again and returned to NBC as a reporter. He did really great job there, doing the broadcasts from all around the world. He covered wars, tsunamis, peace processes and so on. He always said that movies and TV shows were his passion and he loved to be a reporter and disclose latest news to people.

For his entire long career he deserved a big reward. And it is true, he indeed earned a lot of money, his estimated net worth is 1.5 million dollars. For all his difficult and sometimes dangerous reports it might be even not enough.

If we are talking about his family, he is a married person. His wife Suzanne Perry was a mother of internationally famous Matthew Perry ("Friends"). Therefore, when Morrison and Suzanne got married, Keith became a stepfather to Matthew Perry. Apart from Matthew, he also has four his own children: Caitlin, Emily, Willy and Madeleine. The eldest was born in 1981 and the youngest in 1989.
