Early life and TV career

Laila was born in the small town of St. Paul in the state of Minnesota. Interestingly enough her parents are both Latvian Americans. Her mother’s name was Brigita and her father’s was Janis. Her father used to be a research chemist. Laila also has three sisters. She went to the Yale School of drama and got her undergraduate at the University of Wisconsin.

As far as her movies and TV shows career goes, she has been in quite a lot of productions. She portrayed Susan Page in the popular comedy Planes, Trains and Automobiles. She played the wife of Neal Page who was played by the famous actor Steve Martin. The film had its premier back in 1987. She also got numerous different roles in modern movies such as She’s Lost Control where she played Irene. She was Dr. Tynan in The Letter and also played Lauren in Multiple Sarcasms. It’s safe to say that her list is quite extensive which got her an approximate net worth of about $7 million.

Theatre

Being a promising stage actor, Robins appeared on a variety of spectacles. She played the role of Lady Utterword in the revival of George Bernard Shaw’s Heartbreak House back in 2006. She has several Broadway appearances such as Frozen in 2004, The Herbal Bed in 1998 as well as The Real Thing in 1985.

She also has a lot of off-Broadway stage plays. She appeared as Cleopatra in a production called Antony and Cleopatra in the Guthrie Theatre back in 2002.
