Personal life

Lee was born in Seoul. He wanted to be a professional football player when he was young. He was also selected for the football class conducted by Cha Bum Kun. Due to a major injury during fifth grade, he couldn’t add football laurels to his biography. During the second year in high school, he turned towards modelling and eventually into acting.

He has an elder sister Lee Yong Jung. She is the CEO of MYM Entertainment, his brand. He studied Film & Art and gained his bachelor degree from Konkuk University. Lee had romantic relationships with Park Min Young who starred with him in City Hunters. This was his first love that was known to public. They dated for a few months and ended the relationship. His romantic relationships before Park are not known to media. The reason for the break-up is not known to public. Neither of them talked about the separation to the public.

A few years later, he announced his relationship with Suzy, an actress and singer. It is said that Suzy was already in a relationship when she started dating Lee. There are no details to whether their affair ended Suzy’s previous relationship. A few months after their public announcement of dating, pictures of Suzy with actor Kim Woo Bin were released to public, which led to rumors of affairs. Some stated that the pictures were taken long back. But, both Lee and Suzy did not comment on this news. A few months later, Lee publically announced that Suzy is still his girlfriend.

Since there are no rumors about them getting separated or about any serious fights, it is assumed that they are hitting off as a couple. There are no signs of wedding bells in the near future. It is not known whether they both are living together or not. Lee is not known to have fathered a child or married anyone in the past. Lee has never talked a lot about his parents or their influence in his career. His relationship with his parents is not known to media.

Career

After training for acting, he got a small role in a drama, Nonstop 5. His big debut was in Secret Campus of EBS. In 2006, he met with an accident and that hurt his career a lot. He had to spend several months in bed and it shunned his career growth. After recovery in 2007, he starred in Mackerel Run but, the series was stopped due to bad rating. In the same year, he appeared in many other dramas and also in movies like I am Sam, Get Up and others.

In 2009, he took up a role in Boys Over Flowers. This series bought him fame and he got many endorsement deals for food labels, clothing, make up and others. In 2010, he starred in Personal Taste. In 2013, he took his career to singing. He released his first album in 2013. He became the first Korean to perform in CCTV’s Lunar New Year Gala of China. This bought him more fame and better roles in TV and movies. His net worth is 10 million dollars.
