Apart from his parents, he also has siblings, to be more precise, three sisters. Another note of importance, is that he is the cousin of Mario P. Székely, who is an important Philadelphia born publicist. Louis grew up with his family in the City of Mexico, Mexico for the seven first years of his life. One he was ten the family went through the divorce of the parents. After that, they shifted back to his natal United States of America and settled in Boston, in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, New England.

Studies

He attended the Newton North High School, in Newton, Massachusetts. He finished his studies there in 1985. Once he finished high school, he got offered an entrance to the New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, an offering that he ignored. His first work was as a technician at a public access television station in Boston, Massachusetts; along with that he was also an auto mechanic. Apart from that, he also worked as the employee of a video store and as a cook.

Beginnings

While he was attending high school, he made short movies. Among his works, he made Trash Day in 1984, a short feature. His filming career got him recognition and in 1993 the Aspen Shortsfest gave him the grand prize for the short film, Ice Cream.

One of his first encounters with stand up comedy, was the year that he graduated, 1985.

He went to a comedy club in the city that he grew up in and tried to perform a comedic stand up act. It is safe to say that he's barely clocking at two minute routine was a complete and utter fail. After that, he remained separated from stages and microphones for at least two years. But clearly, his career was not about to stop. He continued to participate in comedy club presentations, he built his career by experience.

Even getting to perform along other comedy greats like Lenny Clarke and Denis Leary. His work went from being just free entertainment to be something that earned him an income. He got so good that he even got to do the opening acts for Jerry Seinfeld, the famous stand up comedy act that is quite recognizable for being the star of the old series with his name. Four years after finishing high school he drifted to Manhattan, a borough of New York City, New York.

Writing

His first works were not as a performer, but as a writer since then up and coming comedic stars. This work lasted from the 90s to the 2000s and he got to work for many comedians as his friends Chris Rock, and hosts of live shows such as Conan O'Brien and David Letterman. He worked as one of the writers of The Dana Carvey Show; for that he lost the chance of working for The Chris Rock Show in 1997 as its head writer. He works his writing as a deconstruction.

Directing

His comedic up is made of observational, acid and vulgar humour. He used his time in The Chris Rock Show to create a now cult classic film, Pootie Tang. Apart from it, he also made Tomorrow Night.

Acting

As an actor Louis C.K has worked both for network television and in films, even going through voice acting roles. He was the main protagonist of the show Lucky Louie. And latter went to be the star of Louie. In regards of his movie roles he had minor parts in movies such as The Invention of Lying. And talking about voice acting roles, he recently made a bit part in the animated series Gravity Falls.

Recognition

He is a six time Emmy winner. Has been nominated many others. Also, he is the winner of a Peabody Award and was twice the winner of a Grammy Award.

Personal Life

He married Alix Bailey in 1995. He then divorced his then wife in 2008. He had two children with her, Kitty and Mary Louise. There is a YouTube account that belongs to FX channel with his name, and his twitter account is available if searched.
