Matthew Gray Gubler is an American director, actor, painter and fashion model. He became to be well known when he was the criminal profiler for Dr Spencer Ried in CBS television show called Criminal Minds and he was the director for its eight episodes. He appeared in other movies like Suburban Gothic, Life After Beth, Days of Summer and the Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. He was the voice for Simon in the Alvin and the Chipmunks with its other sequels.
Matthew Grey was born in State of Nevada in Las Vegas and he is a son to Marilyn who was a political consultant and a rancher with John Gubler who is attorney. He is a graduate of high school from Las Vegas Academy of International Studies and Performing Arts. He was majoring in the acting since the school was not offering what he wanted which was filmmaking. He graduated afterwards in the Tisch School of The Arts from University of New York and he was majoring in the film directing. He went to University of California also in Santa Cruz but he did not attend byu.
Matthew Gray Gubler started his career at a NYU film school and he was found by a person who was scouting for the talent and he became the model for the DNA Model Management and worked for American Eagle, Marc Jacobs and Tommy Hilfiger among others. When he was modeling, he got the internship under Wes Anderson and he encouraged him to audition for a role in the movie The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou and he got the role where he was Nico. In the year 2005, he got the leading role where he was Dr Spencer Reid in the Criminal Minds. He had a small role in the RV film where he was the disreputable Joe Joe. In the movie Zombie Comedy Life After Beth and for Suburban Gothic, he got the Screamfest Award in the category of the Best Actor.
He had done the voice work for the DC Universe Animated Original Movie line and he played as Jimmy Oleen in the All-Star Superman. He was the voice of The Riddler in animated film called Batman: Assault of Arkham.
For filmmaking, he made the documentary under the name of Mathew gray Gubler’s Life Aquatic Intern Journals and he was behind the scene where he was viewing the making of a film and which afterwards included the Criterion Collection DVD release. He directed and he was also the star in the series of the self mockmentaries that were named Mathew Gray Gubler: The Unauthorized Documentary and in the movie he was parodying the Hollywood behavior.
