Early Life and Family Background

Max Giorgio Choa Minghella was born in Hampstead, London, England. He is the son of Carolyn Choa, a choreographer of Chinese and mixed heritage, and the late Anthony Minghella, a British film director of Italian descent who won an Academy Award for Best Director for The English Patient. Max’s sister, Hannah Minghella, is also involved in the film industry and has held senior executive roles at major film studios.

Raised in a creative household, Max developed an early interest in performing arts. He was once a member of the National Youth Theatre, which helped fuel his passion for acting. He later pursued higher education at Columbia University in New York City, studying from 2005 to 2009 while balancing his academic responsibilities with acting commitments.

Max Minghella has built a diverse filmography with performances in projects across various genres. He gained widespread recognition for portraying Divya Narendra in The Social Network (2010), a film that received multiple Academy Award nominations.
