His career began at the tender age of 11 in a small role in the television series Everybody Hates Chris. After this, he made several guest appearances on various Disney shows like ‘The Wizards of Waverly Place’, ‘One Missed Call’, ‘Sister, Sister’ and ‘The Suite Life of Zack and Cody’. His most famous role is the antagonist Rico Suave in the hit television series Hannah Montana. Later on, he was also cast for the Disney movie Dadnapped as Andre. His role as Rico in Hannah Montana made him noticed for several roles like Beethoven’s Big Break, Astro Boy, Hannah Montana: The Movie and Marvin the Martian. He was also cast as Juan Pablo in the comedy Nacho Libre alongside Jack Black.

His recent works are in the movies Ben-Hur in 2016, Despicable Me 2 in 2013, The Perfect Game in 2010 and The Secret World of Arrietty in 2012. He was also seen in the sci-fi flick Ender’s Game where he played the role of Bonzo Madrid, an aggressive and dominating command leader.

Apart being an actor, he is also a director known for his movie The Kings of Summer which was even premiered at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival. His other movie The Perfect Game was also presented at the Guadalajara Film Festival in 2009 in which he acted alongside Eva Longoria.

As a director, he also worked on YouTube films series along with his brother Matio and later on they worked together on Motocross Madness in 2009.
