After years have passed, a 30-year-old Dante is still bitter about the situation. Reportedly, he went on a Facebook rant saying that Morris changed after becoming famous and that his wife Pam made him turn his back on his first family. "Once he was Ricky and got his recognition, he stopped being my father! I started another life with a new wife and kids, and I'm nonexistent. You know what it does mentally to grow up reaching out to your father, and the only way you can see or hear your pops is in movies, TV, billboards, etc." wrote Dante in his Facebook post.
An anonymous comment on a website hinted towards Morris's high school lover, and according to that comment, Morris cheated on her with Pam before leaving her for good. With more sources confirming that he had a son when he was in his early 20's, Morris decided to keep quiet on the news. His silence made the rumors louder.
Pam has never spoken publicly about Morris, his infidelity, or Dante. Judging by Pam's forgiveness and reaction to Morris' confirmed extra-marital relationship, the media assumes that Pam would like to meet Dante and form some connection with the abandoned son.
After all that they've been through, the couple has been deemed one of Hollywood's most successful and loved couples. "We've been fortunate and blessed enough to grow together," explained Morris on how they've been able to last together. "Everyone is different at 28 than they were at 22, and everyone is different at 35 than they were at 28. You can either grow apart or grow together, and we've been fortunate to grow together."
As far as politics go, Morris has always been fascinated by black history and black leaders. He was the host of February's Potential of Us 5K Run/Walk in the Baldwin Hills area of Los Angeles.
When asked what attracted him to the Potential of Us campaign, he replied, "Black history is significant to me because coming up, I was looking at our black historical leaders as inspiration. People who blazed the trail. I am always trying to follow them and see how they live. With the Potential of Us program, I feel like I'm part of a movement. And it comes right when I am working on developing a character from the 70s I'm excited to play."
His kids claim him to be a strict father who strives to bring up responsible children for their kids.
