Pattie Boyd is known as a former English model and photographer. She was one of the main global models during the 1960s and, with Jean Shrimpton, embodied the British female "look" of the time. She is also famous for being the ex-wife of famous musicians, George Harrison and Eric Clapton.

Patricia Anne Boyd was born on March 17, 1944 in Taunton, United Kingdom. She was given the nickname Pattie because she was born on St. Patrick’s Day. In her youth, she lived with her family for a period in Kenya before coming back to the United Kingdom.

Career

As she become a young woman, Pattie eventually started working as a model, getting numerous Vogue covers and strolling in runway appearances for famous designer, Ossie Clark. She also began to build up a strong passion for photography, obtaining a camera and looking for guidance from the veteran photographers she worked with.

Personal Life

Pattie was already set in her career before meeting the Beatles and band member George Harrison in 1964. The two married, with Boyd becoming the subject of the melody "Something." She later married Eric Clapton and became the inspiration for his tunes "Layla" and "Superb Tonight." She is idolized for being the muse for two great artists.
