Paula Poundstone

Paula Poundstone was born in the year 1959 and she is a commentator, interviewer, actress, author and a standup comedian of American nationality. She started to act in the year 1980s with the HBO comedy specials. She was the backstage commentator for the presidential election of 1992 in the show called the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. She is a regular panelist of National Public Radio for the weekly new quiz said Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me.

Paula Poundstone was born in the city of Alabama and she is a daughter of Vera who was working as the housewife and the father is Jack Poundstone, who worked as the engineer. The family moved to live in Massachusetts when she was a month. She went to Lincoln Sudbury Regional High School but she dropped out before she can get her diploma. Afterwards, she got the job working for bussing tables with IHOP and working like the bicycle messenger.

Paula Poundstone started to act with open-mic night as a stand up comedian. She travelled around USA by the Greyhound bus and she was travelling in the open-mic night or comedy clubs while on the way. She stayed for sometime at San Francisco and she became to be known for the improvisational sets on The Other Café Comedy club of Haight-Asbury. She met with Robin Williams and she encouraged her to go to Los Angeles and he included the comedy set for her in the episode he was hosting at SNL. She was the cast in a movie called Hyperspace.

Paula Poundstone was a foster parent and at a certain period, she was fostering over eight children at a certain period. She adopted a son and two daughters. She was once charged with the felony of endangerment of the children since she was found driving when she was intoxicated. She agreed to the probation and to the community service. She talked about the personal responsibility and talked about the events that led to the arrest. She had to undergo the six month treatment program for the alcoholism.

Paula Poundstone has written many books and the first one is called There is Nothing In This Book That I Meant To Say and the second one is called Hey Paula. She has written many books for The Los Angeles Times, Glamour. She is found on the no 88 of the comedy central for the 100 greatest standup comedians for all the time, and she is no 6 for the list of the Maxim Magazine for the Worst Comedian of All Time.

Besides being a comedian, she is also known as the best actress for different movies and tv shows she was in. The examples of these movies include Cats, Cops, and Stuff of 1990. She has been awarded for many roles in the comedy and she worked as the political correspondent for The Tonight Show.
