Paz Vega gained international attention with her performance in Julio Medem’s 2001 film Sex and Lucía (Lucía y el sexo). This critically acclaimed role broadened her appeal beyond Spanish-speaking audiences. In 2004, she appeared in the James L. Brooks-directed Spanglish, opposite Adam Sandler, playing a Spanish-speaking housekeeper navigating life in Los Angeles.
In 2006, Vega co-starred with Morgan Freeman in the independent film 10 Items or Less, and in 2008, she acted alongside Gabriel Macht, Scarlett Johansson, and Samuel L. Jackson in Frank Miller's adaptation of the comic The Spirit.
In 2011, she joined the cast of Vallanzasca – Gli angeli del male (Vallanzasca: The Angels of Evil), directed by Michele Placido, playing a supporting role in the Italian crime drama.
In addition to her acting career, Paz Vega has worked as a model. She signed with the New York-based agency 1/One Management. In May 2011, she replaced Penélope Cruz as the face of L’Oréal Spain, further enhancing her public profile and international brand appeal.
Paz Vega is married to Venezuelan businessman Orson Salazar. The couple has three children: a son named Orson, born in 2007; a daughter, Ava, born in 2009; and another son, Lenon, born in 2010.
