Sean Patrick Hannity was born on December 30, 1961, in New York City. His grandparents immigrated to the United States from Ireland. He has two sisters and was raised by his parents in Franklin Square, New York. Hannity attended Sacred Heart Seminary and St. Pius X Preparatory Seminary High School. Although he later enrolled at New York University, he did not complete his degree.

In 1993, Hannity married Jill Rhodes (often referred to as Jill Hannity), and together they have two children: Patrick and Merri Kelly. Known for maintaining a relatively private personal life, Sean Hannity remains active on social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.

In a past interview, Hannity stated, "I've been around firearms for more than half my adult life." He is a vocal supporter of Second Amendment rights.

Television and Radio Career

Sean Hannity is a prominent television and radio host, conservative political commentator, and author. His broadcasting career began in 1989 at KCSB-FM, a college radio station in Santa Barbara, California. Although his initial stint lasted only about 40 hours before being canceled due to controversy, it marked the start of his media journey.

Following KCSB, Hannity was hired by WVNN in Athens, Alabama, where he served as an afternoon talk radio host. His rising profile eventually brought him to WGST in Atlanta and later to WOR in New York City.

Hannity & Colmes and Fox News Career

In September 1996, Fox News founder Roger Ailes hired Hannity to co-host a television program titled Hannity & Colmes, alongside liberal commentator Alan Colmes. The show was structured as a point-counterpoint format and ran until 2009. Hannity represented a staunchly conservative viewpoint, often in contrast to Colmes’ liberal perspective.

In January 2007, Hannity launched a new program, Hannity’s America, on Fox News, which aired on Sunday nights. Following the departure of his former co-host, Hannity began hosting his own show, simply titled Hannity, which continues to be one of Fox News’s highest-rated programs.
