Tony Goldwyn is a director and actor. He is popular for his villain role in ‘Ghost’. His other notable roles include Colonel Bagley in the movie ‘The Last Samurai’ and as the voice of Tarzan in the Disney animation movie. He also appears on the series Scandal in ABC in the role of Fitzgerald Grant III, the President of United States.

Born in May 20, 1960 in Los Angeles, California, Anthony Howard Goldwyn’s mother Jennifer Howard is an actress while his father Samuel Goldwyn is a film producer. He attended the Hamilton College located in Clinton, New York and also the Brandeis University in Waltham situated in Massachusetts. He received his Bachelor degree in Fine arts from the Brandeis University. He has also studied at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. He is married to Jane Michelle, a production designer. They have been married since 1987 and have two daughters.

Profession

Goldwyn is well remembered for his role of Carl Bruner in the film ‘Ghost’. He also dons comedy roles well which was showcased in the comedy series on television titled Designing Women where he had played the role of Kendall Dobbs, a young HIV positive interior designer. He also did the voice over for the character of Tarzan in the Disney animation movie released in 1999. He also played the role again the Disney video games ‘Kingdom Hearts’ and ‘Tarzan Untamed’. He did a recurring role in the series on NBC Universal, Law & Order: Criminal Intent.

He is also a well-known theatre personality and has appeared on the Second Stage Theatre and the Broadway at Circle in Square Theater. In 2006, he played in the Rebeck play the Water’s Edge and in 2010, he was seen in the Broadway musical Promises which also starred Kristin Chenoweth and Sean Hayes.

He has also directed many films and Television series including A Walk on the Moon, Someone Like You, Without a Trace, Grey’s Anatomy, The Last Kiss, Law and Order and Dexter. He has acted and directed in many series including Dexter and Scandal.

Goldwyn has also done concert performance. In 2012, he played the role of Captain von Trapp in a concert featuring Sound of Music at the Carnegie Hall. Laura Osnes acted as Maria, Stephanie Blythe as Mother Abbes and Baroness Schraeder was played by Brooke Shields. He is currently seen on the series Scandal.
