Beth Chapman

Beth Chapman is an actress who is known for her role in, ‘A country Practice’. She became famous due to her marriage to Duane Chapman.  He married Duane in 1990.

Beth Chapman was born on October 29, 1967 in Denver, Colorado, USA as Alice Elizabeth Smith. She is the daughter of Garry Smith, a former professional Baseball player of the Kansas City Athletics. She is a producer, known for Dog the Bounty Hunter (2003), Hawaii Five-0 (2010) and Dog and Beth: On the Hunt (2013). She has been married to Duane 'Dog' Chapman since May 20, 2006. They have two children. She was previously married to Keith A. Barmore.

Her father was Garry Smith, who played in the Professional Baseball League for the Kansas City Athletics. She is the stepmother to Nicholas Chapman, Duane Lee Chapman Jr., Leland Chapman, Wesley Chapman, James Chapman, Christopher Hecht, Barbara-Katie "B.K." Chapman, Tucker Chapman, and Lyssa Chapman. She has lived in Hawaii since 1989. Has 4 children: a son Dominic Smith (b. 1985) with her ex-boyfriend; a daughter Cecily Barmore Chapman (Cecily Chapman; b. 1993) with her ex-husband Keith A. Barmore; a daughter Bonnie Joanne Chapman (Bonnie Jo Chapman; b. 1998) and a son Garry Chapman (b. 2000) with her husband Duane 'Dog' Chapman. She also has helped Duane 'Dog' Chapman raise his grandson Travis Chapman. Both she and Dog took physical custody of Travis because they didn't approve of his mother's lifestyle choices. 

She worked as a Gymnast, Ice skater, nightclub singer, waitress and a clerk in her early life. Beth became a licensed bail bondsman at age 29 (the youngest in Colorado history). This record has since been broken by her step-daughter, Lyssa Chapman, who became a licensed bounty hunter at age 19. 

In August 2017 Beth was diagnosed with stage II throat cancer after months of a nagging cough. She documented her battle with throat cancer and doctor's visits.  Beth and her husband, Duane shared the diagnosis with their family in a two-hour special show on the series named Dog and Beth: Fight of Their Lives. “People get scared when they get the diagnosis,” she continues. “I’m no different; of course, I was scared. And then people go to Doctor Google, and it becomes an even more desperate situation. I didn’t want that. I had people around me who didn’t let me fall into darkness. They pulled me forward” Beth told People magazine in November 2017. The documentary also included the grueling 13-hour surgery to have the stage 2 tumor removed. Later on the show, Duane Chapman received a phone call that delivered some life-changing news.
