Iain Lee is an English stand-up comedian, presenter, broadcaster, and writer who is perhaps best known for his weeknight talk radio show entitled The Late Night Alternative. Iain Lee was born on June 9, 1973, in Slough, Buckinghamshire, England; he attended Herschel Grammar School in Slough, Berkshire. After performing stand-up comedy at various venues in London, Iain became a co-presenter of the comedic current affairs show, The 11 O’Clock Show, on Channel 4, the British public-service television broadcaster. Iain was the lead presenter on the satirical show alongside Mackenzie Crook and Daisy Donovan. The show also featured comedians Ricky Gervais and Ali G. He also presented the early morning sow RI:SE with Kate Lawler. Iain spent three years on the London-based national phone-in and talk radio station LBC, before hosting, Iain Lee’s 2 Hour Long Late Night Radio Show, on the United Kingdom’s Absolute Radio.
Iain Lee has appeared on, and won, the British game shows The Weakest Link, Mastermind, and Pointless Celebrities. In December of 2018, Iain Lee was credited with saving the life of a suicidal caller by keeping him on the phone for thirty minutes until paramedics arrived. The man, who had taken an overdose, was laying in Plymouth street dying and told Iain that he did not want to die.
