Ken Block

Kenneth Block was born on November 21, 1967 in Long Beach, California. Kenneth Block is famous for being a professional rally driver and the co founder of the popular skateboarding and clothing company, DC Shoes. He is a member of Monster World Rally Team, which is also known as the Hoonigan Racing Division. Ken had sold his ownership of the DC shoes which was bittersweet for him. On one hand, he was sad to let go of something so dear to him. He had founded the company during a skateboarding’s big boom. When skateboarding was still on the fringes of society, Block took a chance on the sport.

He sponsored a young skater named Rob Dyrdek which was the beginning of a lifelong business relationship and friendship. The two took DC shoes to the very top of the skating and apparel world. Rob was able to parlay his success from DC Shoes into becoming a huge media personality. He starred on a reality TV show called Rob and Big which was a huge hit for the MTV network. Ken made many cameo appearances on the show which usually involved him driving a race car. After Rob and Big ended, Rob continued to produce and star in many shows for MTV.

Ken Block is the founder of Hoonigan Industries. The company designs apparel and clothing for consumers who have enthusiasm for auto sports and racing. Ken has competed in many thrilling and extreme sports such as motocross, skateboarding and snowboarding. He is admired by his fans for taking his daredevil risks. Rallying Career of Kenneth Block

Ken Block started his car rallying career in 2005. He got his start as a part of the Vermont Sports Car team. Ken was itching to get started and competed at the SNO Drift which was his first rallying event. Ken did well in his beginning stages as he finished a fifth in the group N Class and finished in the seventh place overall.

Not too many fans or critics expected Ken to do so well. He was seen as an office exec who was just using his spare time to dabble in their sport. Even though he had a skating background, he was not seen as an athlete that would be able to keep up with the other drivers. Ken proved his doubters wrong by winning Rallying American Rookie of the Year Award in 2005.
