Kurt Vogel Russell was born in Springfield, Massachusetts, on March 17, 1951. He experienced childhood in Thousand Oaks, California, with guardians Bing and Louise. Russell's father was an actor, and Russell himself turned into a child star, appearing in various TV and film roles. He had a little part in the Elvis Presley film It Happened at the World's Fair in 1963 and then went on to play the lead in the Western series The Travels of Jamie McPheeters.

Career and Net Worth

Being cast in director John Carpenter's modern action movie Escape from New York in 1981, in which he played warrior turned criminal Snake Plissken, helped Russell show a harder onscreen persona. In 1996, he repeated the role of the eye-patched anti-hero in Escape from L.A.

An adaptable actor, Russell has moved from action to comedy with sprinkles of dramatic roles in between. In 1983, he worked opposite Meryl Streep and Cher in Silkwood. Russell was given a Golden Globe nomination for his performance in the film. Russell's other popular motion pictures from the 1980s include Big Trouble in Little China (1986), Overboard (1987) and Tequila Sunrise (1988). Among his outstanding later movies are Backdraft (1991), Stargate (1994), Breakdown (1997), Dark Blue (2003) and Poseidon (2006).

Russell decided to take a break from acting in his later years but caught the acting bug again and discovered time to work with Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez on Grindhouse in 2007. Russell additionally had a role in Fast and Furious 7, a film whose production was affected by the disastrous passing of young star Paul Walker.

In July 2019, Quentin Tarantino's new film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood enlisted the help of Kurt again after he had appeared in Tarantino's recent film, The Hateful Eight. Kurt will appear in the film as a character named Randy.

In 1979, Russell married actress Season Hubley, who had featured with him in the TV film Elvis. The couple had one child, Boston, before separating in 1983. Russell went into a romantic association with actress Goldie Hawn when the two featured in Swing Shift in 1984. Russell and Hawn have been as one from that point forward. Their child, Wyatt, was born in 1986.

Kurt has also been a stepfather to Goldie Hawn's children from another relationship. His step children include actor Oliver Hudson and actress Kate Hudson.
