Michael Kirk Douglas was born on September 25, 1944. He is an American actor and producer, and the son of legendary actor Kirk Douglas and actress Diana Dill. Raised in a household deeply rooted in the entertainment industry, Douglas pursued a career in film, eventually earning critical acclaim for both his acting and producing work.
Douglas achieved his first major box-office success as both producer and star of the 1984 adventure-comedy film Romancing the Stone, in which he co-starred with Kathleen Turner and Danny DeVito. The film’s success solidified his reputation in Hollywood as a bankable leading man and skilled producer.
Following Romancing the Stone, Douglas went on to star in a series of critically and commercially successful films throughout the 1980s and 1990s.
