Sophie Raworth's career took off at an accelerated pace after she joined BBC in 1992 as a news reporter for Greater Manchester Radio. She then ended up working for BBC Regions in Brussels in 1994. She joined the BBC’s “Look North” program in Leeds and became a regular presenter in 1995. She remained working in Leeds until her move to national television to co-host the show “Breakfast News” on BBC working alongside Justin Webb and later John Nicolson.

In the year 2000, she joined the early morning news “Breakfast” at its inception presenting along with Jeremy Bowen and later Dermot Murnaghan. A few years later in 2003, she was moved to “BBC News at Six” and remained working on the show until October of 2005 when she left for maternity leave and was replaced by Natasha Kaplinsky. Upon her return in 2006, she moved to “BBC News at One”.

Sophie’s career has not been without some hiccups. When she was broadcasting in 2017, she was unaware that an X-Rated film could be seen in the background behind her. It was reported to Twitter quickly and BBC could not confirm what had gone wrong to make such a thing happened, according to The Sun news report.
