Suchita Vadlamani was born on August 1, 1971, in St. Louis, Missouri, United States. Her parents, Rajesh and Chakor Vadlamani, immigrated from India to the United States in search of better opportunities. They settled in St. Louis prior to her birth, and Suchita grew up immersed in both American and Indian cultures. As a first-generation American of Indian descent, she is recognized for embracing her dual heritage.
From a young age, Suchita showed a strong interest in journalism and broadcasting. She was inspired by renowned TV personalities such as Anderson Cooper, Lesley Stahl, Bob Schieffer, Ann Curry, and Katie Couric. Her greatest influence, however, was Diane Sawyer, whom she frequently imitated for her family. These early performances sparked a passion that would later shape her career in media. Loved ones often refer to her affectionately by the nickname “Suchi.”
Suchita Vadlamani received her early education in St. Louis, attending both primary and high school in the city. Following high school, she enrolled at the University of Chicago, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in French Language and Literature. Continuing her interest in media, she later pursued journalism studies at the University of Paris.
