Anthony Mandler (born April 18, 1973) is an American film director, music video director, commercial director, and photographer. He began his career in photography, gaining recognition for his striking visual style and celebrity portraiture. Mandler's work has been featured on the covers of major publications including Entertainment Weekly, GQ, Esquire, Men's Health, and ESPN The Magazine.
His portfolio includes portraits of numerous celebrities such as David Beckham, Colin Farrell, James Franco, Heath Ledger, Ryan Phillippe, Eva Mendes, LeBron James, Taylor Lautner, Andrew Garfield, Kiefer Sutherland, and Katie Holmes. While Mandler was initially attached to the film version, he did not direct the final television adaptation.
