Shanon Cook was born and brought up in Melbourne, Australia. She did her graduate studies in Brisbane at the Queensland University of Technology. She received her bachelor’s degree in arts and majored in Journalism there. She married Daniel Siegberg. Daniel Sieberg is a correspondent who works for BBC America, ABC News, CBS News, and several other outlets reporting news related to science and technology. They have a daughter Kylie McKenzie Sieberg.
Shanon Cook began her career in CNN in the year 1999. She was initially the associate producer at CNN.com. Her work included reporting on the award winning coverage of the September 11 terror attacks in the year 2001. She reported for CNN international covering business affairs and also on breaking news globally for the weekend newscasts at CNN. She has also done anchoring jobs at CNN.com. Starting from 2002, Cook produced and reported on the show Music Room, which focuses on famous artists and music bands. She anchored the show that ran for thirty minutes for two years till 2004. In 2005, she worked on the show Morning Express with Robin Meade on CNN Headlines New. She also did a musical exclusive on CNN.com Live in the year 2007.
