Sharon was born in Tucson, Arizona and lived with her mother Angelita who has a Filipino heritage. Sharon's father, an African American military police officer was not in her life. He ended his relationship with her mother Angelita before Sharon was born. Sharon never had a relationship with her real father, but fortunately she had a good man to help raise her. Soon after Sharon was born, her mother married Jesse Leal, a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force. He also worked as a police officer at Clark Air Base in the Philippines. After a few years of marriage, Jesse adopted Sharon and raised her as his own daughter. 

Sharon dated Bev Land for a good while before finding out she was pregnant. The two decided to raise the child together and they fell in love. Their son, Kai Miles Land was born on September, 2001. The couple ended up getting married to each other in October, 2001. 

Unfortunately, their relationship did not last. Things got tough between  Bev and Sharon and the two called it quits after 6 years of marriage. They got separated in 2007. This was their first marriage. Before Bev, she dated Henry Simmons. After four years from her divorce, she announced that her new boyfriend is Paul Becker.

Bev married Dania Ramirez, an actress, and in 2013 they announced that they were having twins. An affair was not considered to be the reason for the separation.

When asked about her separation from her former husband, she said that it was devastating. She recalled it to be very difficult and she said that she tried everything to make the relationship work, but it did not and they thought that it is not good to stay married and make things more complicated.

The exact reasons for the separation were not publicly announced. It was not a surprising action as Sharon and Bev always kept their personal lives to themselves. Their wedding, the problems and the separations were just news to the public and they never appeared for any comment and even when asked during the interviews, they would give a vague comments. When it comes to Bev, he never opens his mouth about his separation and is usually quite reticent on the matter.

There were no known dirty relationships, physical violence or long term arguments which caused the separation. Bev was supportive of the career of his former wife, according to some sources. Even for the people near them, this news came as a shock. One source said that both of them were very calm and never showed any signs of problems even to their closest friends.

No wonder they took a lot of time to find love again. While Bev is married again, there is no news about Sharon. She was seen shopping and holding hands with Becker, but did not make any serious move with him. After getting out of a relationship, the odds of her falling into another one very soon were very low.

Their separation settlement, alimony, child support and other details of separation are not known to the public. Usually the cases that are ugly and with a lot of claims and fights would only attract the public. Their separation was smooth and simple. The terms and conditions are not known. However, based on Dania’s expression about her stepson, it looked like she is spending a lot of time with him and Sharon has not been seen with her boy lately. Thus, it was considered that he got the major custody rights, but there is no concrete proof to prove the claim.
